FOX News Does It Again: Blames Mr. Rogers for "Entitlement"

Fox news and some whack job of a professor are blaming dead Mr. Rogers for kids false sense of entitlement. First off, why is fox news reporting this? I have the great excuse of being a television blogger, but what is their excuse? We already know that Fox news is full of idiotic douche bags that don't think before they speak; but blaming a man who is synonymous with wholesome educational entertainment is just a low blow. Here is a recap from THINK PROGRESS Blog:

“Why is it at the end of every term, these kids who on the bubble…they come in and beg for extra credit so they can get an A?” Citing a report by a university professor, Fox speculated one possible answer: “Blame Mr. Rogers! Because Mr. Rogers had an optimistic message where everyone was special even if they didn’t deserve it.” During the segment, one chyron read: “Mr. Rogers’ Mixed Message: ‘You’re Special.’” Another chyron asked: “Is Mr. Rogers Ruining Kids?: Sense of Entitlement.”

Seriously guys, I'm disgusted. There are so many fallacies in their arguments that I don't even know where to begin. How can you blame a sweet dead man or any person for what you might think are inadequacies of todays youth. Is it really that bad to be a couple points away from a grade and ask if there is anything that can be done to EARN those measly points? Doesn't having a feeling of entitlement mean thinking you deserve something without working for it? The moronic professor who conducted this so-called study and the anchors at Fox news should be ashamed of themselves for trying to find a scape goat in Mr. Rogers. Next thing you know they will be blaming Mother Goose or Sesame Street for underage drinking or teen pregnancy.
