Comic-Con Lost Panel 07

Hey guys! I'm really rushed and tired as hell so I will post a quick recap what went down on the Lost panel yesterday at the San Diego Comic-Con. Before I go on I just want to express how hardcore the fans were yesterday. The line was out of control! We must have waited for a good four hours in line to get into this panel. Anyway, as most of you must know by now, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse announced at the TCAs a couple of days ago that Harold Perrineau aka Michael would be back on the show as a permanent fixture. I guess they were a little bumed that they couldn't announce this to the fans first so we got the next best thing...Harold Perrineau himself! A girl was asking a question about Michael and if he was only going to come back in flashbacks (or forwards) and all of a sudden Harold Perrineau came strolling in. It was a really pleasant surprise, the crowd went wild. Obviously the producers/writers can't say too much without ruining the mythology of the show so they brought bells and rang them when questions went a little too far (it was really funny). They did touch on a couple of important things.

* We will be seeing a combination of flash backs and flash forwards

* The scene we saw with Kate and Jack off the island in the season finale is not the end of the series. We will be seeing MORE into the future than that!

* They will conclude Libby's story before the end of the series

* We will be finding out more about the never aging man aka Richard Alpert but we will have to wait because Nestor Carbonell is working on other projects

* We will also get a Danielle Rousseau flashback and back story before the end of the series

* They will be done writing the first 14 out of 16 episodes when the first episode of season four airs.

*There will be no breaks during the Lost season, they will air all 16 episodes consecutively.

* When asked if Jack and Claire were ever going to find out that they are brother and sister they rang the little bell (indicating that the question couldn't be answered) but Lindelof shook his head yes

I can't begin to express how nice and appreciative Cuse and Lindelof were to the fans. I'm really anxious for the new season.

What the crap??!!!

SPOILERSWhat the crap was up with Lost?! It was a GREAT episode but I'm still recovering from the shock of it all.

Questions that arose during this episode

Is Locke really dead?

Who the fuck is Jacob? Why is he invisable? Is he really invisable?
Why hasn't Alpert aged?

Can Ben get any more evil?

What happend to Annie? They couldn't just show her and not tell us what happend right?

Who came up with the idea to kill off the peeps from the Dharma Initiative?

Questions answered
How Ben got on the island.
The beggining of the Dharma initiative(kinda).
As always Lost has left us with more questions than answers.

Win/Win

After much speculation that LOST would set an end date official news finally came through. Lost will end after three shortened seasons. Instead of the regular 22 episode long seasons they will be shortend to 16 episodes. The show is set to end in the 2009-2010 season.Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

GMMR
Also on board for the duration are Executive Producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse. It was Lindelof and Cuse who actually asked the network for an end date for the series during the Winter TCAs earlier this year. Looks like they got what they wanted, but with a little compromise with the guys paying the bills over at ABC.
ABC Entertainment President, Steve McPherson, think this is a smart move for both the show and the network: “In considering the powerful storytelling of ‘Lost,’ we felt this was the only way to give it a proper creative conclusion’.

“I always said that we would allow the series to grow and give viewers the most compelling hour possible,” he added. “And, due to the unique nature of the series, we knew it would require an end date to keep the integrity and strength of the show consistent throughout, and to give the audience the payoff they deserve. ” McPherson added.

Damon Lindelof sees the error of his ways

FROM TV GUIDE
HUGE SPOILER ALERT (IF YOU DIDN'T WATCH THE LAST EPISODE OF LOST).... That the producers decided to kill off much-maligned castaways Nikki and Paulo (Kiele Sanchez and Rodrigo Santoro) on this week's episode of "Lost" may not have been a shock to fans. But how the greedy, murderous pair died provided one of the biggest twists — and thrills — of the season. (After being paralyzed by spider bites, the not-so-dynamic duo were buried alive — albeit unwittingly — by Sawyer and Hurley.) "People hated them before they even opened their mouths to say anything significant because it felt like they were crashing the party," exec producer Damon Lindelof acknowledges of the characters who were abruptly introduced last fall. "The easiest thing would have been to just write them out and forget they ever happened, like the cougar on [Season 2] of 24. But that's not Lost. We should at least own up to it."

Kiele Sanchez wasn't bothered by the criticism directed at Nikki and reveled in going out with a bang, yet wasn't too crazy about filming the burial scene: "I am horribly claustrophobic — I can't even have a blanket over my face — so I didn't have to do a lot of acting. I was genuinely terrified." — SOURCE

Paulo Lies,Bitches Die

Should I bother with the whole Spoiler warning?
AHHHH Boone and Shannon are back!! Best moments of the episode! OMG even the doc who exploded is back!
I think its funny how they basically had to superimpose these(the new losties) assholes into the crash scene and other various old Lost scenes. Don’t waste my time with this new lostie bullshit! I don’t care about any of these bitches….yeah I’m swearing a lot but I don’t care I’m THAT mad. Tell me again why we are supposed to be even remotely invested in these characters? I can go on forever about why I think it sucks that these new losties are stealing screen time from our favorites. Praise the Lord she died before the first commercial. Then he died before the second! Maybe Veronica mars can solve this mystery! All I could really think about this episode was how Paulo Played the Tranny dude from 300…. wow. I love how we found out that they weren’t really dead but now they are! I guess nothing matters on the island except how you treat each other that and not getting killed. I knew they weren’t cool enough to be others. On a side note did anyone else notice how Blondie said Dr. jack was cute? Barf on you lady! Anyway this episode was only good for three things watching a shirtless Sawyer, seeing flash backs of our dead friends and Sun finding out about who really kidnapped her.

Locke and the island sitting in a tree

Spoiler Alert!!
OMG I’m so excited I’m watching LOST as we speak but unfortunately I don’t have the internet so this isn’t getting posted until later. Ok episode is over and I can type now.
Every time I watch this show I feel like throwing up or throwing something at the TV. Usually I just get nervous and my blood pressure rises. I know I’m not the only one because one time my friend threw her shoe at the wall. Back to business, Locke was beyond pathetic this episode. At this point in time I am throwing my hands in the air and saying, “I give up”. Can’t Locke just stay on the island if he wanted to? Everyone could get rescued, killed, let go or whatever. I think it would be cool he just said “peace bros”! I know the Others are chosen and what not but couldn’t he bribe his way in? I think Locke would make a perfect OTHER.

Moving on. Can I just get one thing out of the way? Is it just me or were Dr. Jack and Blonde(Juliet) looking extra smokin' this episode. They (writers) are totally setting up a love connection! Fun fact about Jack, he can play the piano! How hot is that? I think Kate thought so too (more confused I guess). Anyway I was totally WTF last week when Jack was playing ball with the OTHERS but I guess now I understand that Jack just wanted off the island. Something doesn’t smell right though; actually I take it back I have no idea what I’m talking about. This show not only makes me literally sick but it also confuses me to no end. Yet I keep on watching. Why do you lead me on Lost?

Back to the mess that is John Locke. I give props to Terry O'Quinn for playing such contrasting sides to one character. The difference between island Locke and crippled Locke is amazing. I almost rolled over laughing when I saw Locke in sweats! I’m sure one of my sick and demented friends thought he was the hotness in those sweats…yeah you know who you are. I just can’t believe how much Locke wants to stay on that island. What is the guarantee that he will stay the way he is? I wonder if it was Bens master plan to get Locke to become one of them from the get go. Obviously things are working out in Bens favor, well other than the whole paralyzed thing.

All of the JATE fans (that’s the name right Jack and Kate) must have been screaming bloody murder at their TV’s. What is up with Blondie being such a cockblock! Kate and Jacks faces were THIS close! Forget Sawyer Kate totally loves him or wants his body. This was way too much excitement for one show!

OH SHIT MOMENTS OF THE SHOW
-Their only way off the island is destroyed thanks to Locke
-Locke gets thrown out of the window by his papa
-Kate and Jack have an emo moment
-Rousseau saw her daughter for the first time in…forever
-Locke’s dad is on the island…. WTF
-The man who got Juliet to go to the island was on the island!!

There is a great site where I got some of these pics. They list all the little hidden things that we might miss while watching the show. WEBSITE

When Fandom Universes Collide

The degrees of separation in the TV fandom world are usually only one or two. Actually I don’t know how true that is but the more I find out about things the more that statement seems to hold true. Just like I love Jenna Fischer for keeping it real and keeping connected with the fans, I love Nathan Fillion for all the same reasons. If for some odd reason your fandom radar needs a tune up he played the lovable Captain Malcolm Reynolds on Firefly, which Joss Whedon created. He was also Kate’s husband on LOST. Damn those Fandom connections! Well here comes the third connection. Before I get anyone too excited I should put the disclaimer out: Nathan Fillion is not going to guest star on the Office (I wish he would though! Maybe to steal Karen away from Jim?) he did however blog about his experience visiting the set on his Myspace blog:
Nathon Fillion:
Unrelated, I had lunch at the Office a few weeks ago. The Annex, the kitchen, the office itself- it's all real! There is so much space between Pam's desk and Dwight's that I never knew about. I rummaged through Michael's safe. I watched as cast members updated their myspace pages and checked their emails while on lunch, but at their character's desks! Can you believe it? Now, many of you may have weirded out- sputtering stupid things excitedly while being ushered around on a first class tour. I'll have you know... I'm not above that. Thank you, Jenna, for putting up with the high pitched squels of excitement, the stupid questions, and demanding that you answer as Pam. Thank you James Gunn, for using your powerful influence to sit me down with the cast. Thank you Joss, for giving me something to talk about with everybody. Go figure, they love the crap outta you, too.

Mr. fillion was in the movie Slither that Jenna Fischer's Husband Directed. Also to add to the connection list Joss Whedon directed an episode of the office which I’m sure gave him double the street cred or is that set cred? I also love that even though Firefly has been cancelled for a while now he still goes to Conventions. Here is a youtube video of Joss Whedon talking about his work on The Office.

More on why I heart NF on his blog:
As for the updates on what's going on in Nathantainment: Wonder Con was a real lift. All you Browncoats did me a solid and showed some real support. You made me look like a big man in front of my Drive pals. Thanks. You wanna have some fun? Next time, let's play it up a bit. When you come up to ask a question, start with, "Hey Nathan, it's (Your name here) from (your town here). You set my arm when I broke it?" (Or some such other thing I helped you with- job, marriage, lost dog, flat tire, you know!) I'll come back with, "Oh, yeah! How's the arm? You back at tennis?" And you say, "Oh, it's great. My doc couldn't believe how well you set it. Anyways, my question was..." Then, we drop it. Quick and to the point is where the comedy is. Now, the joke won't work if you get extra creative or weird/gross, so keep it real, and we can all have a laugh. I did a special edition commentary with some dear friends for a movie we did, and I'm looking forward to seeing it come out again.

Now before I get too ahead of myself I have to say that I’m not going to put up a front and pretend like I am cool enough to be a “browncoat” or that I have been actively part of the Joss Whedon fandom universe. I bow my geek head in shame as I admit that I barely got around to watching The Firefly series a little over a month ago. I feel the obligation to do a good deed as a newbie. I recommend that you guys buy the firefly series (20 bucks at Target) the show is seriously great fun. If you like scifi and Joss W. you wont be disappointed. OK back to me confessing my fandom sins. I have only seen about 40 episodes of Buffy and Serenity wasn’t on the top of my list of things to watch ( I watched Serenity before firefly and I sooo wish I would have done it the other way around). Every time I have watched something that Joss Whedon has been a part of I am never left disappointed. My friend V (no I’m not delusional I don’t mean V from V for Vendetta) got really addicted to Buffy and watched all 8 seasons in like a month or something insane. Since I am equally as insane or more so I think those 8 seasons are my next assignment. Yikes.

Unlocking the secrets of THE OTHERS

Just Kidding! Imagine if I actually knew. The makers of this shirt seem to think they have an idea. I'm so getting these shirts for V and I so we can wear them to comic-con. I'm kidding...wait no I'm not!

l will link as soon as I get to a PC

There is something up with LOCKE

SPOILERS for those who haven't seen the new episode of LOST.
OH MY GOD. Locke is totally an other! Actually no, probably not an other but there is something definitely there. The fact that he knew one of the others (zeke) before the crash, then the eye patch guy saying he knew him. There is definitely something up. Why do the Losties even let him even talk or move! The island has totally made him Mentally Challenged. STOP PUSHING BUTTONS! (there has to be a reason why he has gotten so stupid right?)

I was soooo disappointed when I heard it was going to be a Claire centric episode because the truth is I could care less about Claire. When was the last time we saw her? First season..actually IDK but either way she will always be TESS(Roswell) to me and I hated that bitch. With all that said. I was wrong, this episode kicked ARSE.The reveal that her and Jack totally share similar DNA was awsome. We all kinda suspected it right? They gave us a little hint earlier on like when Jacks dad went to Australia (where claire lived) to find his daughter and what not. Thank the lord that Jack and Claire didn't get a love connection going, actually that would have been juicy...sick but juicy.

The last scene was the SHIAT! Jack seemed to be enjoying himself with THE OTHERS! Is he part of the book club now too? I can't wait to see what happens. Once I get some concrete theories in my little head I will post them but right now I am just processing the episode. Great overall!

You see this face!

This is how I feel right now. Pure and utter agony! I have my Law final exam on thursday which means cutting down the fandom until that stupid final is over! Thank god for streaming TV. Why is it that there hasn't been anything new on for the last couple of days and the night before my final, a new episode of LOST is on? God is laughing at me isn't he? JK. Wish me luck.

The Tranny Queen

OMG! The guy from Love Actually played Xerxes from 300! Say it isn't so?
I know 300 is a movie and not a TV show but there is a connection. He is also the guy who plays the new Lostie no one cares about aka Paulo. God I can't wait till they kill him off. I found this wonderful comparison at ONTD over on Livejournal. The people there are off the hook!
